Ali Asghar Khanban is an Iranian mathematician and computer scientist who won a bronze medal for the Islamic Republic of Iran at the 28th International Mathematical Olympiad (1987) with 22 points (rank 95). He later earned a PhD at Imperial College London (2005) with a thesis on basic algorithms in computational geometry with imprecise input, and published on Delaunay triangulation and computable geometry with Abbas Edalat and Andre Lieutier, as well as on algebraic combinatorics with Mahdian and Mahmoodian. He was a deputy leader of Iran's IOI delegation in 1999 and 2000 and a member of the Sharif FarsiWeb project.
