Borching Su (蘇柏青) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering at National Taiwan University. Born in Tainan in 1978, he represented Taiwan at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1994 and 1995, winning bronze medals both years, then earned B.S. (1999) and M.S. (2001) degrees at NTU and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Caltech (2008), where his blind-channel-estimation thesis won the Charles H. Wilts prize. After working on WiMax baseband at NextWave Broadband in San Diego, he joined NTU in 2009. His research spans signal processing for communications, 5G waveform and transceiver design, and massive-MIMO beamforming/precoding. He is a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Tron Future Tech (創未來科技), a Taiwan defense/aerospace startup building phased-array radar, anti-drone and satellite-communication systems, which raised a $29m Series A in May 2024.
