Luca Macchiaroli

Luca Macchiaroli is an Italian mathematician who represented Italy at the 57th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2016, Hong Kong), scoring 26 points (rank 68, 88.9th percentile, silver-medal range) as part of the Italian team that finished 15th. He was a two-time Italian IMO team member (2015, 2016). A Naples native, he was identified early as an elite maths talent, appearing in January 2016 local press alongside Nikita Deniskin, and went on to study at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. He is now based in London.
