Máté Egri

Máté Egri is a Hungarian mathematician and DPhil student at the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance (University of Oxford, Mathematical Institute). He represented Hungary at the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2018) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, winning a bronze medal with 24 points as a 12th-grade student at the Bolyai János Gyakorló Gimnázium in Szombathely. He studied at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), completing an MSc in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics in 2024 with a thesis titled 'Financial bubbles from an epistemic viewpoint' (supervisors Miklós Pintér and Gábor Molnár-Sáska), which won a Best Paper Prize. His research sits at the intersection of probability, epistemic modelling and quantitative finance.
