- Joined Cognition in January 2026 as an early member of its Applied AI Engineering team, driving Devin adoption across Fortune 100 engineering orgs via 1-3 week onsite workshops built on customers' real use cases.Jan 2026
- In his own words on LinkedIn: "I run 4–5 daily pairing sessions with engineering pods of 6–20 people, embedding AI directly into existing workflows, and lead kickoff/closing sessions for the broader org."2026
- Claims his workshop approach "has driven 400–600% usage increases across strategic accounts, with gains sustained well past the workshop" (self-reported on LinkedIn).2026
- Also ramps new Applied AI Engineers through reverse-shadowing and coaching and works to build "lasting AI champions within our strategic accounts".2026
- His LinkedIn headline still reads 'Front End Developer' and the summary still describes React/React Native work, while the current role is AI enablement; the activity is the signal: he pivoted from building UIs to teaching enterprise engineers to work with an AI agent.2026
- Lead front-end developer at Pluto (Pluto Bio), a no-code life-sciences data visualization platform, May 2023-Aug 2024, building its Next.js/Tailwind web app.May 2023
- Career-switched from writing to code through Dev Bootcamp's 19-week full-stack program (2014), where his final project with teammates Emily Owaki and Michael Steichen was PairBnB, an app to pair with programmers around the country in exchange for a place to stay.2014
- B.A. in Creative Writing from Colorado College (2010-2014), studying under Steven Hayward, Maureen McHugh and Rawi Hage; the non-CS path (writer -> bootcamp -> 10 years of React) is unusual for an AI-lab engineer and fits a customer-facing, teaching-heavy Applied AI role.2014
- Public headline says "Front End Developer".
- Only dedicated front-end developer at ZERO.health (Mar 2022-Mar 2023), where he migrated internal React apps from Redux and class components to hooks and TypeScript.Mar 2022
- Senior React developer at Zayo Group (Dec 2019-Feb 2022), managing the re-release of zayo.com, building a shared component library and helping move the backend off Salesforce/WordPress to AWS.Dec 2019
- Played for Colorado College's club ultimate team Wasabi from freshman year; a catch between two UC Santa Barbara players at a February 2013 San Diego tournament was ranked No. 6 in USA Ultimate magazine's top ten plays of the year.Jul 8, 2013
I'm an early member of Cognition's Applied AI Engineering team, driving Devin adoption across Fortune 100 engineering orgs through immersive 1–3 week onsite workshops built around customers' real use cases. I run 4–5 daily pairing sessions with engineering pods of 6–20 people, embedding AI directly into existing workflows, and lead kickoff/closing sessions for the broader org. Working with account teams, I turn tedious engineering tasks into hands-on AI exercises — an approach that's driven 400–600% usage increases across strategic accounts, with gains sustained well past the workshop. I also help ramp new Applied AI Engineers through reverse-shadowing and coaching, and work to build lasting AI champions within our strategic accounts.
As a consultant for Bluehawk I worked for Rula on their blog, which was built as a Wordpress headless CMS connected to a React front-end. I also assisted with their transition to Storyblok, building out new pages and components during the migration.
Pluto is a cloud-based platform empowering life sciences organizations to visualize and analyze complex biological data sets easily, with no coding required. I was the lead front-end developer on their web application which is built with Next.js, Tailwind CSS and modern React.js patterns
I was responsible for designing, building and testing new features in several different React based apps as the only dedicated Front End Developer on a small team, and oversaw the transition of several internal React applications away from Redux and Class components over to functional components, hooks and Typescript.
Helped manage the re-release of zayo.com as the Senior React developer on the team, also integrated and built out our component library across our suite of internal applications and worked as part of a team to modernize our back-end stack away from Salesforce and Wordpress towards AWS.
I worked as a consulting Front End Developer for ProKarma, a consulting company that provides staffers for technical needs. I started with them on a project with T-Mobile, stabilizing the release of their cord-cutting streaming service, TVision. My duties involved making daily updates to their AngularJS and Backbone applications. Their stack also used Docker for containerization and Node to serve the application.
I started working on Backbone apps on the set-top boxes for Nagrastar LLC, who were contracting for DISH TV. After a few months I was transferred to DISH to work on DISH Anywhere, a React, Redux and React Native application. As a front-end developer my duties include designing, styling and building the application, and require a strong understanding of ES 6 and React principles.
I build pages for the website and mobile app using HTML, CSS, and Javascript (jQuery) based off of JSON data. I also write and edit company-wide emails and newsletters, and handle customer service.
At Colorado College I studied creative writing from Steven Hayward, Maureen McHugh and Rawi Hage among others. I also studied literature, film, religion, political science and other social sciences.
Over the course of a nineteen-week extensive program, I learned Ruby, Rails, Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, HTML and version control with Git. We also studied team dynamics and Agile practices. we completed two projects in the final three weeks of the program. As a cumulative final project, Emily Owaki, Michael Steichen and I created PairBnB, an app that allows you to network and pair with programmers around the country in exchange for a place to stay. You can check it out at pairbnb.org!
