## Notes
- Joined Cognition in January 2026 as an early member of its Applied AI Engineering team, driving Devin adoption across Fortune 100 engineering orgs via 1-3 week onsite workshops built on customers' real use cases. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- In his own words on LinkedIn: "I run 4–5 daily pairing sessions with engineering pods of 6–20 people, embedding AI directly into existing workflows, and lead kickoff/closing sessions for the broader org." (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Claims his workshop approach "has driven 400–600% usage increases across strategic accounts, with gains sustained well past the workshop" (self-reported on LinkedIn). (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Also ramps new Applied AI Engineers through reverse-shadowing and coaching and works to build "lasting AI champions within our strategic accounts". (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- His LinkedIn headline still reads 'Front End Developer' and the summary still describes React/React Native work, while the current role is AI enablement; the activity is the signal: he pivoted from building UIs to teaching enterprise engineers to work with an AI agent. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Lead front-end developer at Pluto (Pluto Bio), a no-code life-sciences data visualization platform, May 2023-Aug 2024, building its Next.js/Tailwind web app. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Career-switched from writing to code through Dev Bootcamp's 19-week full-stack program (2014), where his final project with teammates Emily Owaki and Michael Steichen was PairBnB, an app to pair with programmers around the country in exchange for a place to stay. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- B.A. in Creative Writing from Colorado College (2010-2014), studying under Steven Hayward, Maureen McHugh and Rawi Hage; the non-CS path (writer -> bootcamp -> 10 years of React) is unusual for an AI-lab engineer and fits a customer-facing, teaching-heavy Applied AI role. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Public headline says "Front End Developer". (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Only dedicated front-end developer at ZERO.health (Mar 2022-Mar 2023), where he migrated internal React apps from Redux and class components to hooks and TypeScript. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Senior React developer at Zayo Group (Dec 2019-Feb 2022), managing the re-release of zayo.com, building a shared component library and helping move the backend off Salesforce/WordPress to AWS. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Played for Colorado College's club ultimate team Wasabi from freshman year; a catch between two UC Santa Barbara players at a February 2013 San Diego tournament was ranked No. 6 in USA Ultimate magazine's top ten plays of the year. - My name is Nick Brown and I am an experienced Front End Developer located in the Denver area who has mostly worked with React, React Native and other Javascript frameworks. In my work I value intuitive user interfaces and strong coding practices to improve quality of life for engineers and end users. I am looking for companies where I can continue to put these beliefs into practice; this comes from the profile summary and preserves the person's own positioning. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Consulting front-end developer via ProKarma (Feb-Nov 2019), starting on T-Mobile's TVision cord-cutting streaming service release (AngularJS/Backbone). (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- At NagraStar/DISH (Aug 2017-Feb 2019) worked on Backbone set-top-box apps for NagraStar before transferring to DISH to build DISH Anywhere in React, Redux and React Native. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-brown-b6217888)
- Sports Editor of The Catalyst, Colorado College's student newspaper (2013-2014), managing writers and photographers and writing a column; e.g. his May 2013 column 'What's so funny about CC sports?'. (https://thecatalystnews.com/2013/05/10/whats-so-funny-about-cc-sports/)

## Experience
- Applied AI Engineer at Cognition - Denver, Colorado, United States (Jan 2026 - Present): I'm an early member of Cognition's Applied AI Engineering team, driving Devin adoption across Fortune 100 engineering orgs through immersive 1–3 week onsite workshops built around customers' real use cases.

I run 4–5 daily pairing sessions with engineering pods of 6–20 people, embedding AI directly into existing workflows, and lead kickoff/closing sessions for the broader org. Working with account teams, I turn tedious engineering tasks into hands-on AI exercises — an approach that's driven 400–600% usage increases across strategic accounts, with gains sustained well past the workshop.

I also help ramp new Applied AI Engineers through reverse-shadowing and coaching, and work to build lasting AI champions within our strategic accounts.
- Frontend Developer at Bluehawk Consulting (Oct 2024 - Aug 2025): As a consultant for Bluehawk I worked for Rula on their blog, which was built as a Wordpress headless CMS connected to a React front-end. I also assisted with their transition to Storyblok, building out new pages and components during the migration.
- Software Engineer (Frontend) at Pluto - Denver, Colorado, United States (May 2023 - Aug 2024): Pluto is a cloud-based platform empowering life sciences organizations to visualize and analyze complex biological data sets easily, with no coding required. I was the lead front-end developer on their web application which is built with Next.js, Tailwind CSS and modern React.js patterns
- React Developer at ZERO.health - Denver, Colorado, United States (Mar 2022 - Mar 2023): I was responsible for designing, building and testing new features in several different React based apps as the only dedicated Front End Developer on a small team, and oversaw the transition of several internal React applications away from Redux and Class components over to functional components, hooks and Typescript.
- React Developer at Zayo Group - Greater Denver Area (Dec 2019 - Feb 2022): Helped manage the re-release of zayo.com as the Senior React developer on the team, also integrated and built out our component library across our suite of internal applications and worked as part of a team to modernize our back-end stack away from Salesforce and Wordpress towards AWS.
- Front End Developer at ProKarma - Greater Denver Area (Feb 2019 - Nov 2019): I worked as a consulting Front End Developer for ProKarma, a consulting company that provides staffers for technical needs. I started with them on a project with T-Mobile, stabilizing the release of their cord-cutting streaming service, TVision.

My duties involved making daily updates to their AngularJS and Backbone applications. Their stack also used Docker for containerization and Node to serve the application.
- Front End Developer at NagraStar / DISH - Greater Denver Area (Aug 2017 - Feb 2019): I started working on Backbone apps on the set-top boxes for Nagrastar LLC, who were contracting for DISH TV. After a few months I was transferred to DISH to work on DISH Anywhere, a React, Redux and React Native application. As a front-end developer my duties include designing, styling and building the application, and require a strong understanding of ES 6 and React principles.
- Front End Developer at OFP Hosting - Greater Denver Area (Aug 2016 - Jul 2017): I build pages for the website and mobile app using HTML, CSS, and Javascript (jQuery) based off of JSON data.

I also write and edit company-wide emails and newsletters, and handle customer service.

You can check it out at pairbnb.org!
