Replying to the post "Do you have any mathematical beliefs that border on being crank-y?".

> My crank belief would be that 2 and 3 are not prime. They’re too small to really have factors and so only meet the criteria for prime-ness by default. 5 is the smallest prime which is bigger than a composite number, so it has earned being prime.
>
> This would solve all the prime proofs that need to exclude p=2 and/or p=3.
>
> Crank version of me would reclassify 2 and 3 as being sub-prime numbers.

Replying to a redditor:

> I've seen this guy on Numberphile and thought he seemed like a really fun guy, this just confirms it! Thanks for sharing!

> I can confirm that the Cliff you see in the Numberphile videos etc is exactly the Cliff you get in person.
>
> Only more so. Real-life Cliff is up to an extra 61.8% more Cliff than Video Cliff.

### u/standupmaths in r/IAmA, Feb 13, 2020 · Cut idea

Replying to a redditor:

> Was there anything that you had to cut from Humble Pi that you wish could have made it into the book? Also, congrats to Dr. Lucie on the successful launch of the solar orbiter!

> There is a bunch of small stuff which didn't make it into the book.
>
> - I wanted to have a section of hash values and hash collisions. I went so far as to use random reference codes on my post-it notes to see if I would have a collision while writing the book: and I did! But that section didn't even make it to the first draft.
