> I've wanted the chance to ask you this for SO long! 😃 Is Karen Brown named after Karen from Mean Girls? My reasoning for asking is: all the Brown kids' have the gift of prophecy, and the eldest is named "Cassandra". The name "Jessica" was probably derived (by Shakespeare!) from…

> ...I can't believe someone finally identified the origins of Karen's name. Congratulations!

**Kandi for Tomb Quest, a Mathematical Adventure.**

> Last year for The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals Reprise, I got started on my bracelet making a little later than I would have preferred, and went in with 272 bracelets. I had been aiming for 360--one for every seat in the El Portal Theater.
>
> When this year started with rumors of a two-show year, I doubled down on my planning, aiming to have one bracelet for every seat at the El Portal and one for every seat at the Chicago Apollo, which seemed like the most likely second theater, so a total of 810.

> And then the second (first) show was in London. And Tomb Quest is in a smaller theater. And, well. I got kinda focused, and I overshot my goal by...

> I was at San Diego Comic-Con with my girlfriend, crossing the dealer floor to get somewhere--I don't even remember--when we ran into this woman in an absolutely *breathtaking* Emma Frost costume. We stopped to tell her how fabulous she looked, and she responded with, "Are you Seanan McGuire?"
>
> She had dressed as Emma because she knew how much I love the character, and wanted me to see her cosplay. And that, right there, is true fan love.

> Seanan
