Adib Hasan is a Bangladeshi-born engineer and MIT alumnus (BS Mathematics & Computer Science 2021, MEng EECS 2024) who works on long-horizon AI agents. Around his studies he worked on crypto/quantitative developer roles at the DeFi company Multiplyr, and earlier held software/data roles at Kensho Technologies, Facebook, and QuantCo. He competed for Bangladesh at the International Mathematical Olympiad across 2012-2015.

Adib Hasan is a Bangladeshi-born engineer and MIT alumnus. He competed for Bangladesh at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 (bronze each year), then studied Mathematics & Computer Science (BS 2021) and EECS/MEng (2024) at MIT, advised by Mardavij Roozbehani and Munther Dahleh. He has worked as a backend/quantitative engineer at Multiplyr (crypto/DeFi) and Kensho Technologies, interned at QuantCo, and now builds long-horizon AI agents (AutoFyn), with research on transformer robustness under distribution shift (VITA, AAAI 2026).

Notes
  • Quant employment verification: CONFIRMED. Adib Hasan held a genuine past quantitative role: LinkedIn index lists 'Engineer I (Backend and Quant)' (2021-08 to 2022-07) then 'Engineer II (Quant)' (2022-08 to 2023-01) at Multiplyr, and his own site states he 'spent two years as a quant developer managing multi-million dollar crypto portfolios and leading a team of four'. Identity is supported by his own site, the matching LinkedIn (adib-hasan), the MIT education, and the IMO Bangladesh record. Employer classification: Multiplyr (Multiplyr Labs, multiplyr.ai) is a Web3/DeFi software company and core contributor to the Affine protocol (Affine Earn cross-chain savings/investment and Affine Restaking, affinedefi.com) - a crypto/DeFi firm whose work is trading/investment-adjacent but NOT a conventional quant hedge fund or market-maker; the 'quant' in the title refers to quantitative development on crypto portfolio products. QuantCo's 'Data Science Intern' (Jun-Aug 2018) is a real internship at an AI/statistics enterprise-decisions firm (algorithmic pricing, claims management, precision medicine, quantco.com) whose 'quant' name does not denote trading, market-making or asset management, so it does not itself establish quant-finance employment. Kensho Technologies (SDE Backend) is an S&P Global AI/financial-data company, not a trading desk. The quant-employment conclusion rests specifically on the Multiplyr crypto role: confirmed, but DeFi/crypto rather than traditional quant finance.Sep 17, 2026
  • Identity resolved: the IMO Bangladesh contestant, MIT alumnus, and Multiplyr/Kensho engineer are one person, confirmed by his own site adibhasan.com stating he grew up in Bangladesh and trained for the IMO before MIT, alongside the matching LinkedIn (adib-hasan) and the IMO record for Bangladesh 2012-2015.Jan 1, 2026
  • Self-describes as a 'quant developer' managing multi-million dollar crypto portfolios and leading a team of four for two years before MIT.
  • Current LinkedIn index entry lists 'Research Engineer at Stealth Startup' in New York; his site independently describes building long-horizon agents (SignalPilot Labs / AutoFyn).Jan 1, 2026
  • Author of AutoFyn, a long-horizon security-audit agent that claims 150+ OSS vulnerabilities (Next.js, pnpm, MetaMask, LiteLLM) and topped the Spider 2.0 dbt benchmark.Jan 1, 2026
  • Changes career direction from crypto quant/backend engineering into AI safety/agents research: MEng thesis on transformer safety, then AutoFyn long-horizon agents and VITA (AAAI 2026) - a move toward AI research rather than staying on a trading track.Jan 1, 2026
  • Multiplyr (Multiplyr Labs) built the Affine protocol - 'Affine Earn' cross-chain savings/investment and 'Affine Restaking' - so his quant work was on crypto/DeFi yield products, not equities or derivatives.Jan 1, 2023
  • LinkedIn index lists Multiplyr as 'Engineer I (Backend and Quant)' (2021-08 to 2022-07) then 'Engineer II (Quant)' (2022-08 to 2023-01).
  • Multiplyr is a blockchain/DeFi software company (Multiplyr Labs; core contributor to Affine protocol, a liquid-restaking DeFi protocol), not a conventional quant hedge fund.
  • QuantCo Data Science Intern (Jun-Aug 2018) per LinkedIn index; QuantCo is an AI/statistics enterprise-decisions firm (algorithmic pricing, claims management, precision medicine), a data-science consultancy rather than a trading or asset-management firm.
  • Education: MIT Bachelor's in Mathematics and Computer Science (2017-2021) and MIT MEng in Computer Science / EECS (2023-2024).
  • Co-authored (with Mardavij Roozbehani, Munther Dahleh) VITA, an AAAI 2026 Oral paper on climate-robust crop-yield forecasting.Aug 1, 2025
