Amin Jafarian

Amin Jafarian, IMO 2001 silver medalist for Iran, earned a BS in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2005), a PhD in electrical engineering from UT Austin (2011), and Princeton's MFin. He worked at Qualcomm and Newracom, then in quantitative finance at Cubist, IMC, and Alpha Simplex, and was a visiting lecturer in data science and finance at Princeton's Bendheim Center. He died in a car accident in Namibia in 2019, aged 35.
