Amir Kolic is a mathematics and machine-learning researcher from Bijelo Polje, Montenegro. He represented Montenegro at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, earning honourable mentions in 2020, 2021 and 2022, and won a Golden Diploma at the 2020 International Junior Mathematics Challenge. He attended the "Miloje Dobrasinovic" Gymnasium before completing the International Baccalaureate at United World College Mostar, where he founded the mathematics team and helped prepare students for competitions. He studied at MIT (Course 18 mathematics, with a minor in finance; a double degree spanning mathematics, computer science, data science and economics is also reported), graduating in May 2026 and continuing to master's study at MIT focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning. He does research in MIT's Poggio lab and co-authored an arXiv paper on weight decay and training stability (2026). He rowed on the MIT heavyweight crew (2022-23, 2023-24) and volunteers with MIT ESP. A July 2026 interview states he was then interning in New York, having interned in Berlin the previous year; the employers are not named in that source.
