From 2015 he worked on routing technology (founding Ligero Routing) and engineering at Citymapper in London/Paris, then moved into data-science leadership across healthcare (Dasa), retail (Mercê do Bairro), delivery (Rapiddo) and medical AI (Aravita). Notes
  • Announced joining Baze as CTO in a LinkedIn post dated 2026-08-11; his LinkedIn brand/company now reads Baze, superseding the older indexing. Baze (LinkedIn slug 'suabaze') is a Brazilian crypto/fintech company.Aug 11, 2026
  • Quant employment verification: CONFIRMED. Andre Arroyo Ruiz was Partner at Quantique - Machine, Math & Mind (quantm3.com / Quantique M3 Investments Ltda.), Oct 2022 - Mar 2024, per his own LinkedIn experience (first-party), where he states he 'developed quantitative models and automated trading strategies, combining quantitative finance and machine learning' and 'architected and developed a framework for scalable backtest'. The employer is a genuine quantitative fund manager, corroborated by sources beyond the index: Valor Globo (2023-10-04) calls Quantique a 'gestora especializada em fundos quantitativos', and ANBIMA's register lists Quantique M3 Investments Ltda. as a fund manager. Identity is supported (one consistent LinkedIn profile, Sao Paulo, same data/AI career, IMO/Etapa background). The role is an actual leadership role, not a student program or insight day. His Quantique role description is first-party (LinkedIn); the firm's quant classification rests on Valor Globo + ANBIMA, not the index alone.Oct 2022
  • Quantique is a Sao Paulo quantitative fund manager (fund names include 'Quantique Quark' and 'Quantique Axion'); Valor Globo reports founding partners include Fernando Santos (ex-J.P. Morgan and Citadel) and Renato Ometto and Camila Fairbanks (both ex-3G and Constellation), so Arroyo Ruiz's partnership sat inside a team with bulge-bracket/hedge-fund pedigree.Oct 4, 2023
  • Won a Bronze medal representing Brazil at the 38th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 1997) with 19 points (rank 167, 63.9%), scoring 7 on problem 3 - among the top Brazilian scores that year.Jul 1997
  • The index snapshot still lists him as Senior AI Architect at Aravita and Counselor - Data & IA at Dr Scriba, but these are index/aggregator claims that predate the Aug-2026 Baze move; they are NOT primary-source confirmation of current employment, and the index lags the move.Aug 2026
  • Received an Honourable Mention at the 37th IMO (1996, Brazil team) with 10 points (rank 216, 49.3%).Jul 1996
  • His public quant thread runs through Quantique only; apart from that partnership and the 2026 Baze (crypto/fintech) CTO move, nothing in his record shows a bank, asset manager, energy or proprietary trading desk role, so the quant-finance exposure is a 2-year partnership rather than a trading-desk career.2024
  • At Dasa (2020-2022) he was (Superintendente) Head of Data Science and AI, creating and leading a Center of Excellence with ~20 data scientists and managers; he earlier led Data Science for Nexa Digital at Dasa (2018-2019), which Dasa acquired.2022
  • In his Colégio Etapa alumni video he says he entered via a 'Desafio Etapa' competition scholarship, studied Electrical Engineering at Poli-USP and now works with artificial intelligence; the Etapa bio confirms he was Etapa class of 1997.Mar 27, 2025
  • Speaker at Campus Party Brasil 2024 (CPBR16), Expo Center Norte, Sao Paulo, talk titled 'Os perigos da IA' ('The dangers of AI').Jul 2024
  • Posted publicly about Quantique in Sept 2023 (financas/finance), corroborating that his quant-firm role was public and finance-oriented rather than an internal-only listing.Sep 29, 2023
  • Invented a routing algorithm in 2015 and founded Ligero Routing, which led to engineering work at Citymapper (Senior Software Engineer - Data Science, then Data Science Manager, London/Paris); his career shifted from engineering into data-science leadership after 2017.2015
