Notes
  • Quant employment verification: CONFIRMED. A verified identity (London FX-options trading career, MIT CS degree, IOI profile) plus two first-tier financial-press reports name an actual role at ExodusPoint Capital Management, LP (multi-strategy hedge fund), joined Feb 2026, and prior roles at BNP Paribas (Global Head of FX Options Trading) and Goldman Sachs (MD, FX Options/Exotics). These are real bank hedge-fund/derivatives trading roles, not student programs.
  • January 2026: Bloomberg reported ExodusPoint Capital Management hired him as a macro portfolio manager (options/FX veteran), attributing the move to people familiar with the matter.Jan 14, 2026
  • Join date firmed by FN London: he joined the firm on 2 February as a portfolio manager (the article is framed around a related macro-salesman hire).Feb 4, 2026
  • ExodusPoint Capital Management LP is a multi-strategy hedge fund founded by Michael Gelband (ex-Millennium); its hiring of an FX/macro options PM places this role squarely in quantitative/trading hedge-fund territory.Jan 16, 2026
  • Career timeline: Goldman Sachs 2006-2018 (MD, FX Options/Exotics), then joined BNP Paribas July 2018 as Global Head of FX Options Trading to build out the bank's currency options business (press covered the hire as a Goldman veteran move).May 1, 2019
  • Press in 2021 noted his quiet exit from BNP Paribas, reporting he had left the bank without public explanation ('Mysterious disappearance of top options trader').Aug 1, 2021
  • Education at MIT: BS in Computer Science (1998-2003) and MEng in Computer Science (2002-2003). The BS/MEng window overlaps the IOI years (1997-98), consistent with the Olympiad profile being the same MIT-trained person, though the two records do not cross-cite each other directly.
  • Roughly 2021-2026 gap: both LinkedIn and a hiring-tracking newsletter describe him as on sabbatical since 2021, i.e. not employed by a firm during that window.Jul 16, 2026
  • IOI honors: bronze medal at IOI 1997 and silver medal at IOI 1998 representing Turkey, per the competitive-programming hall of fame profile (which links the official IOI stats page).Jan 1, 1997
  • LinkedIn summary lists skills FX Options, Exotic Derivatives, Trading, Convertible Bonds, Credit and Funding, and ~20 years experience, describing an investment-banking FX/derivatives profile rather than a systematic/algorithmic one.
