I am a first-year student at Harvard College from Novi Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, planning to study Computer Science and Statistics. I have a strong background in competitive mathematics and programming in C++, including earning my country’s first-ever gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad and representing Harvard in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). In high school, I led the computer science club, teaching C++ programming and preparing students for competitions. My academic interests center on algorithms, statistics, finance, and quantitative modeling, with a growing interest in AI systems.

Benjamin Mujkić is a Harvard College undergraduate from Novi Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, studying Computer Science and Statistics. He represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the IMO (2021-2025) and IOI (2022-2025), winning his country's first IMO gold medal in 2024, and is a full-scholarship Harvard student.

Notes
  • Quant employment verification: NOT CONFIRMED. No actual quant-finance role or internship is documented. The only confirmed paid work is non-quant software/AI internships (Infobip software-engineer intern 2026; 387labs AI-engineer intern; Aurevia MD ML engineer). The quant-finance-named items on his profile are student/insight programs or student organizations, not employment: Jane Street First-Year Trading & Technology Program (one-week first-year student program), The D. E. Shaw Group Vector Program (first-year student program), and Jump Trading Early Access Program (student program). Employer classification (the named firms ARE genuinely quant finance): Jane Street Capital is a quantitative proprietary trading firm/market maker; Jump Trading is a proprietary high-frequency trading firm; D. E. Shaw Group is a quantitative/systematic hedge fund. Student programs alone do not qualify as employment, so the quant-employment claim is not confirmed. LinkedIn-derived roles are self-reported (index/enrichment-sourced), not independently primary-source verified.
  • Identity confirmed by official Olympiad records: Benjamin Mujkic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, IMO participant 2021-2025 (id 31249) and IOI participant 2022-2025 (stats.ioinformatics.org id 7420), matching the LinkedIn/website identity (same name, BiH origin, Harvard).
  • Won Bosnia and Herzegovina's first-ever IMO gold medal at IMO 2024 (31 points, rank 19); also IMO silver 2022 and 2025, and bronze 2021 and 2023.
  • Earned an Honourable Mention at IOI 2024 (score 209.83, rank 185/353); represented BiH at IOI 2022-2025.
  • Attends Harvard College (class of 2029) on a full scholarship funded via the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Futures Foundation; media describe him as the country's top young mathematician.
  • Software engineer intern at Infobip (2026): part of a five-person team building a Shazam-style music-recognition app using C++/Python audio fingerprinting. Infobip is a telecom/cloud-communications software company, not a quant-finance employer.
  • D. E. Shaw Group Vector Program participant (2026-): a first-year student program on finance/trading/technology with case studies and seminars, not an employment role.
  • Jane Street First-Year Trading & Technology Program (FTTP): a one-week first-year student program; Jane Street Capital is a quantitative proprietary trading firm/market maker.
  • AI Engineer Intern at 387labs (2026-), designing enterprise architecture for an AI research platform; 387labs is a software/AI startup (partnered with the University of Sarajevo), not a quant-finance firm.
  • Jump Trading Early Access Program (2026-04): a student outreach/insight program; Jump Trading is a proprietary high-frequency trading firm.
  • Harvard Undergraduate Data Analytics Group case-team analyst (2026-), where he contributed to a systematic trading platform (market-data ingestion, prediction-market analysis) - a student organization, not an employer.
  • Selected to represent Harvard University at the ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest), 2025-.
