Dirk Basson

I have a great interest in mathematics and programming and anything that can be studied using computational, structural and algorithmic ideas. In my current role as Quantitative Analyst at Fairtree Synthesis, I use programming on a daily basis to analyse data and trading ideas to aid portfolio managers' decision making in tasks like portfolio optimization and trade sizing. I also took the lead in enabling the team's systems to deal with the change of reference rate from JIBAR to ZARONIA. My professional programming experience is in MATLAB, with a little bit of Python and C++. Our team puts great emphasis on writing maintainable code.
