Notes
  • Quant employment verification: CONFIRMED. Jakob Baek Tejs Houen (published name) appears in Alipes' Quantitative Analysis team listing (7 people incl. Peter Holler Langhorn, Guilherme B.), and LinkedIn enrichment lists him as Quantitative Analyst at Alipes ApS from May 2024. Alipes' own site describes it as automating financial markets and trading billions of ticks; thehub.io calls it a proprietary high-frequency trading company founded 2008. Caveat: the team listing is an aggregator/index, not primary-source confirmation; the role rests on index data plus that listing.
  • BARC (Basic Algorithms Research Copenhagen) announced he started his PhD there on 1 January 2018 supervised by Mikkel Thorup, after a BSc in Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen and four Danish programming championships.Sep 8, 2020
  • Alipes is a genuine quantitative-finance employer: its own site describes automating financial markets and trading billions of ticks, and thehub.io calls it a 'proprietary high frequency trading company' that in 2022 entered short-term physical power (energy) trading.
  • PhD thesis 'New Results on Hash Functions and Hashing-Based Algorithms' submitted 26 May 2023 under advisor Mikkel Thorup at the University of Copenhagen.May 26, 2023

  • Represented Denmark at the International Olympiad in Informatics; stats.ioinformatics.org lists him as a Danish IOI contestant.
