Honourable Mention, IMO 2022 (Latvia)Contested EGMO For Latvia In 2021 And 2022Bachelor Thesis (Ecole Polytechnique, 2025): Fast Computations Of Connected Toroidal Schnyder WoodsLecturer At The University Of Latvia (2026); Math Olympiad Organizer At NMS (2025-)Math Lead / Mathematician At Mercor Intelligence (2024-2026)

I am passionate about mathematics and problem solving, with several years of experience in olympiads and competitive environments. I am a quick learner and enjoy exploring new topics. I am currently open to opportunities related to mathematics or data science.

Milana Komisarova is a Latvian mathematics researcher and olympiad organizer. She was educated at Riga State Gymnasium No.1 (2016-2022) and then Ecole Polytechnique in France (2022-2025), graduating with a Bachelor in Mathematics and Computer Science; her bachelor thesis concerned fast computations of connected toroidal Schnyder woods in graph drawing. From September 2025 she has been pursuing an MSc in Mathematics and Data Science at the University of Latvia. She works as a Math Olympiad Organizer at NMS (the Latvian olympiad organization) and has lectured at the University of Latvia, and from 2024-2026 worked as a mathematician (later Math Lead) at the AI training-data company Mercor Intelligence. She represented Latvia at the IMO and EGMO, earning an honourable mention at the IMO in 2022.

Notes
  • Quant employment verification: NOT CONFIRMED. No paid role or internship at a quantitative trading, market-making, or hedge-fund employer was found. The only trading-sector item is a Jane Street 'Insight Program Participant - Trading' (London, Apr 2024, 1 month), a student insight/education event rather than employment or an internship, so it does not satisfy the criterion. Her documented employers - Mercor Intelligence (Mathematician 2024-2026; Math Lead 2025), University of Latvia (Lecturer 2026), and NMS (Math Olympiad Organizer 2025-) - are an AI training-data marketplace, a university, and a math-olympiad organization, none of which operates in quantitative finance. Her LinkedIn headline also lists Swedbank; Swedbank Latvija is a commercial/retail bank and no specific Swedbank role or quant function is documented in accessible sources, so it is retained as UNRESOLVED rather than counted. Identity is supported across her personal site, LinkedIn, IMO/EGMO records and the Ecole Polytechnique LIX page.2026
  • EMPLOYMENT: Mathematician at Mercor Intelligence, 2024-2026 (2 yrs), creating/refining math problems to train AI systems; the employer is an AI training-data marketplace, not a quant-finance firm.2024
  • EMPLOYMENT: Lecturer at the University of Latvia in 2026, teaching a 4th-year Bachelor's course 'Elementarās matemātiskās metodes' (invariants, pigeonhole, induction, olympiad techniques).2026
  • EMPLOYMENT: Math Lead at Mercor Intelligence, 2025 - reviewing/evaluating contributor work and mentoring contributors.2025
  • EMPLOYMENT: Math Olympiad Organizer at LU A. Liepas Neklātienes matemātikas skola (NMS) since 2025 - organizing national and international olympiads incl. Baltic Way 2025, creating/proofreading/grading problems.2025
  • Honourable mention at IMO 2022 representing Latvia, scoring 394/700 (33.3% of the Latvian team total).Jul 2022
  • Personal site lists spoken Russian, Latvian, English (fluent) and French, German (less fluent), and states she is 'currently open to math-related opportunities' - an availability signal as of the site's April 2026 update.Apr 2026
  • Academic path: Riga State Gymnasium No.1 (2016-2022, maths & physics) -> Bachelor at Ecole Polytechnique, France (2022-2025, Mathematics & CS, graduated June 2025) -> MSc Mathematics and Data Science at the University of Latvia (started Sept 2025).Sep 2025
  • Scientific profile: Bachelor thesis at Ecole Polytechnique (LIX combinatorics group, advisor Luca Castelli Aleardi) titled 'Fast computations of connected toroidal Schnyder woods' (2025), in graph drawing / computational geometry.2025
  • Also serves as a jury member / organizing committee member for the Latvian Linguistics Olympiad and was an IOL participant (2018 International Linguistics Olympiad context).2026
  • Participant in the European Summer Program on Rationality (ESPR), Oxford, 2023 - a summer program, not employment.2023
