RESEARCHED WITH AUTUMN
Timofey Fedoseev
B.Sc. Mathematics and Computer Science (Ecole Polytechnique); IOI 2021 gold medalist (Russia)
Timofey Fedoseev (also transliterated Timofei Fedoseev) is a Russian competitive programmer. He won a gold medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2021 representing Russia and was the absolute winner of the All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics in 2021. He began a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at HSE University Moscow (2021-2022) and continued in a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science at Ecole Polytechnique, France (2022-2025). In summer 2024 he was a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at INSAIT, Sofia, working on enhancing LLM reasoning for mathematics tasks.

- Quant employment verification: UNRESOLVED. Identity is independently supported (OpenReview polytechnique.edu email plus matching LinkedIn, INSAIT page, HSE NERC team page), and both candidate employers are genuinely quantitative-trading firms (GSA Capital = London systematic manager; pinely = HFT proprietary firm). However, the only evidence that he himself held the GSA Capital and pinely 'Quantitative Researcher' roles is the LinkedIn-derived index; no independent primary source confirms either stint, and role type/dates are unstated beyond the index. Employment therefore cannot be confirmed and uncertainty is retained.Sep 2026
- Employment record listing 'Quantitative Researcher' at pinely (Jun-Aug 2022) and at GSA Capital (Jul-Sep 2023) comes solely from the LinkedIn-derived index; no independent primary source (career page, press, or a second profile) corroborates either stint, so both are index-only and their role type (internship vs full-time) is unstated.Sep 2026
- OpenReview profile lists a confirmed polytechnique.edu email, Ecole Polytechnique undergraduate 2022-2025, and the same LinkedIn URL - independently cross-linking three separate identity records to one person.Sep 2024
- IOI 2021 gold medalist representing Russia (absolute rank 64 of the 2021 cohort), per the official IOI statistics archive.Jun 2021
- All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics 2021 absolute winner and ICPC World Finals 2023 gold medalist; the INSAIT fellowship listing states both alongside the IOI gold.Jul 18, 2024
- Employer classification: GSA Capital is genuinely a quantitative firm - it stands for 'Global Statistical Arbitrage', is a London systematic/market-neutral manager founded 2005 out of a Deutsche Bank team, and won the 2023 EuroHedge long-term Equity Strategies award.2023
- Named on HSE University's NERC ICPC 2022 winning team 'Undertrained+Overpressured' (with Ivan Safonov and Maxim Gorokhovsky), corroborating the HSE enrollment and the ICPC record from an independent institutional source.Apr 19, 2022
- Summer 2024 INSAIT Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow on 'Solving Mathematical Problems with LLMs', one of 21 selected students; INSAIT lists him under Ecole Polytechnique.Jul 19, 2024
- Education path changed institutions after year one: B.Sc. Applied Mathematics and CS at HSE Moscow (2021-2022) then transferred-equivalent restart at Ecole Polytechnique (2022-2025), i.e. a two-year French cycle entered after the first Russian year.Jul 18, 2024
- Employer classification: pinely (pinely.com) is a proprietary high-frequency/ultra-low-latency algorithmic trading firm across Singapore, the Netherlands and Cyprus; its Codeforces announcement confirms the same firm, so the name's homonym risk is resolved for the quant-trading reading.Jul 2022
- The Logic.py constrain-solver paper surfaced under a name search is authored by Kesseli, O'Hearn and Cabral - Fedoseev is not an author, and his OpenReview profile lists no publications, so there is no confirmed published paper to attribute to him.Feb 17, 2025
- Competitive-programming handles are Codeforces 'dyrbulshchyl' and AtCoder 'fedoseev_timofey'; the CP Hall of Fame credits a $2,600 total prize and a Google Code Jam 2021 15th-place finish, indicating international-contest standing beyond the IOI medal.2021
