IMO Medals For Bulgaria: Silver 2001, Bronze 2000~20 Years Buy-side Quantitative Research And Trading; Built Two Quant-equity BusinessesFounding Member Of Ellington's Quantitative Equities Strategies Group (2006-2021)Ran A Senior Systematic Equities Team At Balyasny (2023-2024)Co-founder Of Symbiosys Capital (human + Machine Equity Investing)

I am a lifelong problem solver and voracious learner, striving to innovate, build, grow, and be a decent human being. I have spent the past two decades in quantitative research and trading on the buy side. Having built two quant equities businesses from the ground up, I bring experience across the full investment process, including alpha forecasting, risk modeling, portfolio implementation, and monetization. The intersection of my expertise and passions spans the following: ▪ Predictive applied data science - explainable forecasting, causal inference, advanced analytics and insights - leveraging large traditional and alternative datasets ▪ Building research tools, models, workflows, and systems that deepen and accelerate quantitative research ▪ Developing high-performing teams while cultivating a values-driven culture I derive energy from what makes us uniquely human: the ability to communicate, connect, and collaborate with others.

Notes
  • Quant employment verification: CONFIRMED. Actual paid roles, not student programs: Ellington Management Group (founding member of its Quantitative Equities Strategies group, Jul 2006-Jun 2021, progressing to Portfolio Manager), Balyasny Asset Management (Portfolio Manager running a senior systematic equities team, 2023-2024), and press reporting of a 2026 move to Point72's systematic unit Cubist. Each employer operates in quantitative finance - Ellington is a US alternative-investment manager (founded 1994), Balyasny is a multi-strategy hedge fund, and Point72/Cubist is a computer-driven hedge fund. Identity is supported by the IMO record, Harvard/Cambridge mathematics education, and the Symbiosys co-founder headshot cross-linking the same name. Index-only caveat: role dates and the Libero Capital 2025 role rest on aggregator/index records; the Point72 and Balyasny quant roles additionally carry trade-press support. Current employer (Libero Capital vs Point72/Cubist) is unresolved.Sep 15, 2026
  • Reported by FN London on 2026-09-15 as hired by Point72 to help run computer-driven trading strategies at Cubist (Point72's systematic unit), from a prior Balyasny role; this is the most recent employment signal and conflicts with index aggregators that still list Libero Capital as current, making the current employer disputed.Sep 15, 2026
  • All employment chronology here (Ellington 2006-2021, Symbiosys 2021-2022, Balyasny 2023-2024, Libero 2025-) comes from LinkedIn-derived index records (enrichment) and syndicated people-directory pages, which are aggregator/index sources, not independent primary-source confirmation; treat dates and titles as index-only until corroborated by press or filings.2026
  • Balyasny Asset Management is a multi-strategy hedge fund (bamfunds.com); his 2023-2024 role running a senior systematic equities team there is a quantitative hedge-fund portfolio-management role, corroborated by trade-press coverage of Balyasny's 2023 quant hiring.2023
  • Co-founded Symbiosys Capital with David Gibson (~40 years combined experience per the firm's own site); the stated goal was to fuse quantitative and fundamental (human + machine) equity investing, i.e., a systematic long/short equity fund.2020
  • Joined Ellington Management Group in July 2006 as a founding member of its Quantitative Equities Strategies group and progressed Research & Infrastructure -> Assistant Portfolio Manager -> Portfolio Manager over ~15 years, so his career is a continuous buy-side quantitative-trading track from 2006.2006
  • Public contact data appears only in people-directory aggregators: a gmail personal address and a bamfunds.com work address (Balyasny domain), plus tselkov@fas from the Harvard course page; none is a confirmed primary-source contact.2026
  • His LinkedIn headline is 'Quantitative Investing' and profile skills center on hedge funds, quantitative finance, portfolio management and risk, consistent across index and aggregator sources with a two-decade buy-side quant focus.2026
  • Listed on Symbiosys Capital's team page as Co-Founder with a company headshot, the firm's own primary-source identity confirmation linking the name to the systematic-equities venture.2021
  • The education record - Harvard BA in Mathematics (2001-2005) then Cambridge Master of Advanced Studies in Mathematics (2005-2006) - is consistent across index and aggregator sources and aligns with an IMO medalist pursuing pure mathematics before moving to finance; the Cambridge label is a Part III-style one-year math degree.2006
  • Served as Course Assistant for Harvard's Math 55a (honors multivariable calculus and linear algebra) in Fall 2004, with the course page listing his email tselkov@fas; selection to CA Harvard's flagship honors math sequence as an undergraduate indicates standing among the strongest math students of his cohort.2004
  • Won a silver medal for Bulgaria at IMO 2001 (rank 46, 28 points: 7/3/1/7/7/3) and a bronze at IMO 2000 (rank 138, 17 points), establishing an elite mathematics record before university.2001
