> If the Mars colony isn't ready in time for you to live there, do you want to be buried there? In general, do Mars burials make sense as a quick, easy way to monetize a Mars colony? Do they make sense as a contribution to fertilizing Martian soil?

> I would want the Mars colonists to send back enough Mars soil so I can be buried in it here.

> What skill sets do you think will be most important for people arriving in the first 5 years of colonization of Mars? The next 5 years (first 10)? And the next 10 years (first 20)?

> first ten years- The ability to fix balky equipment and skills in field exploration.

Replying to a redditor:

> What are some must-have experiments or projects that need to be on the first unmanned Mars landing Starship? Also, could water be used as a radiation protection for future greenhouses, or living spaces. Like putting a bunch of water between the windows?

> Greenhouses don't need radiation protection. They need sunlight. So think transparant walls for them. Exploration crews can get by without radiation protection too. But settlements should have radiation protection. Putting them under fish farms is an attractive option. Have your rooftop aquarium skylight grow your food while shielding you from cosmic rays.
