Aino Aulanko

Aino Aulanko is a Finnish mathematics student from Espoo who represented Finland at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Her IMO results climbed each year: honourable mention in 2022 (17 pts, rank ~364), bronze in 2023 (22 pts, rank ~220) and silver in 2024 (26 pts, rank 82) - and at IMO 2024 she also received the Maryam Mirzakhani Award as the best female competitor in Europe, the first time that award came to the Nordics. In April 2024 she won gold at the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) in Georgia, Finland's first-ever EGMO gold. She graduated from Otaniemen lukio in spring 2024 and began Engineering Physics and Mathematics at Aalto University, before moving to a Mathematics degree at Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris in 2025. She has competed at the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) and works on math/programming tasks (e.g. a summer job at Nokia).
