Akashnil Dutta

Akashnil Dutta is a software and machine-learning engineer best known as one of India's most decorated olympiad students: he represented India at the International Mathematical Olympiad three years running (silver 2009, silver 2010, gold 2011 in Amsterdam) and also won a silver medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics 2011, a rare double across both the math and computing olympiads. He studied Computer Science and Mathematics at MIT (BSc, 2011-2015). He was a founding engineer at the distributed-SQL startup YugaByte (2016-2018), spent 2019 as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, then worked on recommendation systems at LinkedIn (2020-2023) and ads ranking at Meta (2023-2025). His LinkedIn currently lists him as a Research Engineer at a stealth startup, based in Newark, California.
