Andreas Alberg

Andreas Alberg is a Norwegian mathematics student and competition mathematician. He represented Norway at the International Mathematical Olympiad five consecutive times (2017-2021), winning gold in 2020 (rank 22 of 616) and silver in 2019 and 2021, and bronze in 2017 and 2018 - one of Norway's most decorated IMO contestants. He also represented Norway at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 2020 and 2021. A three-time winner of the Abel Competition (Abelkonkurransen) while at Oslo katedralskole, he completed a master's degree in mathematics at the University of Oslo in 2024 under John Christian Ottem, with a thesis on the decomposition of the diagonal, specializations and stable rationality.
