Dominic Pinto

Dominic Pinto is a mathematician who represented Luxembourg at the 39th International Mathematical Olympiad in 1998, winning a Bronze medal with 16 points (rank 176). He was educated at The European School, Kirchberg in Luxembourg, where he was a regular solver of the Mathematical Gazette's Student Problems, and in 1998 also took first place in the senior Olympiade Mathématique Belge. He went on to research pure mathematics at the University of Leeds, co-authoring a 2005 paper in the Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society on radical Banach algebras.
