Ernesto Javier Kofman is an Argentine engineer and researcher, Principal Investigator at CONICET (CIFASIS, Rosario) and Titular Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario's Department of Control. He earned his Electronic Engineering degree (1992-1999) and PhD in Engineering (2003) at UNR, and has been a leading figure in numerical simulation of continuous and hybrid systems and automatic control, co-authoring the reference books 'Theory of Modeling and Simulation' (3rd ed., 2018) and 'Continuous System Simulation' (2006). As a high-school student he represented Argentina at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 1992, winning a Silver medal (30th of 171, 185/200 points).
