Gašper Zadnik

Gašper Zadnik is a Slovenian mathematician. He represented Slovenia at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2004 (bronze medal, rank 169, 20 points) and 2005 (silver medal, rank 100, 25 points). He earned his PhD at the University of Ljubljana in 2014 with the dissertation 'Significance of flats in CAT(0) geometry', advised by Jaka Smrekar and Pierre-Emmanuel Caprace, and has published research on isometries of symmetric spaces and regular elements in CAT(0) groups. By 2014 he had moved into applied work at OPTILAB, presenting a Bayesian analysis of insurance fraud at FMF Ljubljana.
