Belgian mathematician who represented Belgium at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2007 (bronze medal) and 2008 (honourable mention). He completed a PhD in mathematics at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles in 2020 on correspondence theorems in Hopf-Galois theory, advised by Joost Vercruysse and co-supervised with Gabor Wiese, and has published on infinite Hopf-Galois extensions.

Hoan-Phung Bui is a Belgian mathematician specialising in algebra, particularly Hopf algebras, Hopf-Galois theory and Galois descent. As a school student he competed for Belgium at the IMO in 2007 and 2008, winning a bronze medal and then an honourable mention. He earned his doctorate at ULB in 2020 and continues to publish in Hopf-Galois theory.
