Bristol, United Kingdom · academicHou Tin Chau is a mathematics researcher and competitive-programming champion from Macau, now a PhD student in the Combinatorics group at the University of Bristol under David Ellis. As a school student he represented Macau at the International Mathematical Olympiad five times (2012-2017), winning bronze in 2014, silver in 2015 and back-to-back golds in 2016 and 2017, and he also medalled at the International Olympiad in Informatics. His research is in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, including work on induced subgraphs of Kneser graphs and independent exact r-covers of regular graphs.
