Ivan Kharchuk

Ivan Kharchuk (Іван Харчук) is a Ukrainian school mathematician born in Zhytomyr in 2009, who represented Ukraine at the International Mathematical Olympiad 2026 in Shanghai, earning an Honourable Mention with 15/42 points. Raised and first trained in Zhytomyr, where he won the 2022 regional olympiad as an untrained 8th-grader, he moved to Kyiv's Ukrainian Physics and Mathematics Lyceum (UFML) in 2023 and then to the Optima education centre for grade 11. He climbed Ukraine's national olympiad ladder to a 1st-prize finish in 2025, took bronze for Ukraine at the first European Mathematical Olympiad 2026, and lists number theory as his favourite field.
