Jaco Cronjé

Jaco Cronjé is a South African computer scientist and AI engineer based in Pretoria. As a school pupil he represented South Africa at the 10th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 1998, Setubal, Portugal), scoring 480/700 and winning a bronze medal. He went on to a research and engineering career in image processing and machine learning, including the CSIR Optronic Sensor Systems group, 5DT and SAAB Avitronics, and won the 2012 Entelect R100,000 AI coding challenge. He holds a PhD in Computational Intelligence and Computer Vision from the University of Pretoria and is currently a Senior AI Engineer at Cerebria.ai.
