John Albert Overdeck

John Albert Overdeck (born 1969) is an American billionaire hedge fund manager, mathematician and philanthropist. A 1986 International Mathematical Olympiad silver medalist for the United States, he earned a BS in mathematics and an MS in statistics at Stanford, then worked at Amazon.com and as a managing director at D.E. Shaw & Co. before co-founding Two Sigma Investments in 2001 with David Siegel and Mark Pickard. He serves as co-chairman of Two Sigma, a technology-driven firm managing tens of billions of dollars, and chairs the Overdeck Family Foundation with his wife Laura Overdeck.
