Jonas Walter

Jonas Walter is a German mathematician who represented Germany at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2017, 2018 and 2019, winning bronze in 2017 and gold in both 2018 and 2019. He grew up in Rostock and attended the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium there. He went on to study mathematics at the University of Bonn, where his bachelor's thesis 'Positivity of the Hodge bundle on the moduli space of curves', supervised by Prof. Dr. Peter Scholze, was awarded the Bonner Mathematischen Gesellschaft Bachelor Prize for 2021/22.
