Malcolm Granville is a New Zealand-born data scientist and software engineer. As a student at Auckland Grammar School he represented New Zealand at the International Mathematical Olympiad three years running, winning bronze in 2009 and 2011 and silver in 2010, while also a karate black belt. He studied at Harvard University (2011-2015), then worked as a Software Engineer at Google before becoming a Senior Data Scientist at EDO Inc. in San Francisco. He returned to the NZ IMO programme as deputy leader in 2014 and 2015, and competed as a speedcuber (WCA ID 2010GRAN02, five competitions).
