Mandar Joshi represented India at the 40th International Mathematical Olympiad (1999) in Bucharest, Romania, winning a Bronze medal with a score of 109/252 (76%). He was part of the 1999 Indian team alongside silver medallists Arvind Narayanan, Rishi Raj and Vaibhav Vaish and fellow bronze medallists Abhishek Saha and Mohit Singh.
