  • At IMO 2011 (Romania) scored 28 points, rank 39, 93.3rd percentile, winning Gold; at IMO 2012 scored 23 points, rank 85, 84.6th percentile, winning Silver - a rare two-edition Romanian IMO medalist.
  • At IMO 2011 (Romania) scored 28 points (rank 39, 93.3rd percentile) for Gold; at IMO 2012 scored 23 points (rank 85, 84.6th percentile) for Silver - a rare two-edition Romanian IMO medalist, and evidence of sustained elite-level performance rather than a one-off.
  • Interview with Upper Education (Upper School) published 2021-12-29 describes him as a former international math olympian, Harvard graduate, and mentor to juniors preparing for the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad; he credits a social study-group culture (working problems on chalkboards in empty classrooms) rather than solitary grind for his olympiad success.Dec 29, 2021
  • Interview with Upper Education (Upper School), published 2021-12-29, frames him as a former international math olympian, Harvard graduate, and mentor to juniors preparing for the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad; he attributes his olympiad success to a social study-group culture (working problems on chalkboards in empty classrooms) rather than solitary grind - a counter-narrative to the lone-genius trope he now teaches against.Dec 29, 2021
  • Now a Quantitative Researcher at Citadel in Miami, Florida - a trajectory from olympiad mathematics through Harvard and TUM into quantitative trading.
  • Bridged the academic-to-quant transition via Jump Trading as a Quantitative Researcher, plus internships at D. E. Shaw Group and Ellington Management Group - a textbook math-olympiad-to-quant-finance path (Jump and D. E. Shaw being two of the most selective quant firms).

  • At the time of the 2021 interview he was finishing a Master's in Data Engineering and Analytics at the Technical University of Munich, after studying mathematics and computer science at Harvard - the quant-trading pivot appears to have followed this Munich period.Dec 29, 2021
  • Joined the Upper Education Foundation's JBMO (Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad) training program as a teacher and mentor, a signal that he keeps an active hand in the Romanian olympiad pipeline.Dec 29, 2021
