Qais Al-Bassam

Qais Al-Bassam is a Kuwaiti engineer and former national mathematics competitor who represented Kuwait at the 1990 International Mathematical Olympiad in Beijing, scoring 13 points (rank 184) and earning an Honourable Mention. He built a career at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), one of Kuwait's state-owned oil majors, serving as Head of the Mumbai office and then Head of the Singapore Office (2021-2024) before taking a Manager role at KPC in 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and is based in Kuwait City / Shuwaikh.
