Xaver Gubáš

Xaver Gubáš is a Slovak mathematician and administrator who represented Czechoslovakia at the 1983 International Mathematical Olympiad in Paris, earning a bronze medal. He studied at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Comenius University in Bratislava (1983-1988) in the long programme combining theoretical cybernetics, mathematical informatics and systems theory. He has worked across several professions, applying his mathematical background, and as of 2019 was a member of the management of the private primary school Felix. He currently serves as Director of the Office (Riaditeľ Kancelárie) at the Slovak Research Agency (Výskumná agentúra), and writes a public affairs blog on SME.sk.
