Grew Instagram's engineering team to more than 450 people.
Still follows two lessons from Instagram's first week in 2010: collect metrics before something breaks, and build runtime controls like feature flags.
Ported a couple-hundred-thousand-line Python project to TypeScript over one weekend, with Claude checking the code.
Resigned from Figma's board in April 2026, amid reports that Anthropic would offer a competing product.
