Lazaros Karageorgiou is a Greek competitive-programming and mathematics olympiad athlete from Thessaloniki who represented Greece at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 2024, 2025 and 2026, earning an Honourable Mention in 2025 (Sucre, Bolivia) and a Bronze medal in 2026 (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). A long-time member of Greece's national informatics teams, he also medalled repeatedly at the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI) and Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (JBOI), and won 1st place in Greece's Panhellenic Informatics Competition in 2024 and 2025. Beyond informatics he is a Bronze medallist at the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2026) and a member of Greece's national team for the 43rd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (2026). In April 2026 he was accepted to Caltech with an $88,835 annual scholarship; he attended Mandoulides Schools in Thessaloniki on scholarship.
