Hey all,

I made a video explaining the reason for the vote: https://youtu.be/7yNJ_qFqUso

To quickly reiterate, there's obviously some super talented people in this category. The fact that I was nominated was a very great honor. We all know that my performance as of recent isn't up to par with my accomplishments in the Summer.

However, this is quite literally the only mention Smash has in the entire awards show. Smash at all. So it's a big deal that one of those five spots went to a Smasher considering the HUNDREDS of other top players in other top games.

The one reason above all that I'm asking people to vote is EXPOSURE. I have nothing personal to gain from the award apart from a cool trophy and a few minutes to speak some worlds. However, if I win I am planning on making my speech not about me or some dumb Jigglypuff stuff.

I want to talk about us. The community. The grassroots efforts. The fact that we are one of the highest watched esports in the world with no major company backing. It would be Michael Phelps handing an award to a Smash player rather than a League player or a Counter Strike player.

Do the other nominees have accomplishments that best mine? Sure, that's debatable and probably true. For those people who truly don't like me or what I do and want to vote for other people: I get it. Trust me, I do. But if I ask you to put that aside for one tweet, there's a very realistic shot that Smash Bros could be recognized on a scale it never really has before. If you're not voting for me, then vote for Smash. That's what this award is actually about.

I just landed in Los Angeles for the awards show tonight. Opened my phone to a surge of tweet votes for me. This is doable.

We're in the lead currently. And I really think Smash can win this.
