Would you run there?

Fun video at home (Norway) a couple of years ago.

By the way, I know this might look risky, but I think we often put ourselves in the skin of the person we’re watching, not in their mind.

For me, a route like this is something I’ve prepared, and I know the terrain, the conditions and my own capacities on it. The consequence can be high, but that’s not the same as the risk, which depends a lot on preparation.

Zero risk doesn’t exist, and I turn around in about half of my activities when things don’t add up.

I wrote a longer piece on how I think about risk, if anyone is interested: https://kilianjornet.substack.com/p/fear-risk-and-the-mountains

First it was high carb, then it was heat suits. What's the next training secret that's going to hit the masses?

If we think about why we get tired, why we stop pushing...

It’s (almost) never because of failure of one system. Our “body / central governor” prevents us to get to exhaustion and die from effort, and we see that athletes that perform the best are the ones that have a bigger pain tolerance.

We see the effects of adrenaline, stress or the hormonal release during near dying experiences that indicates that we can push more than what our central governor is often telling us.

So it’s more complicated than heat or fueling but IMO is the next big frontier.

For the masses I believe probably Individualisation of everything (fueling, training load, oxygen systems, temperature system, renal system…) will have a huge impact because today most are following what works for others without analysing their individual circumstances and capacity.

Is this really posted by the GOAT Killian Jornet?!? I think it's actually posted by Killian. This is an AMA that included evidence that it's him. Pretty cool, in my opinion.
