Val Kilmer 1959–2025

Thell Reed, a many times over quick draw world champion, worked with Michael Biehn and myself to learn the proper quickdraw and gun spinning techniques used in TOMBSTONE. It is because of him we could whip those guns around as well as we did. For a couple months I copied Michael's characters gun routine, but with both hands. I had a .45 in the right hand and a .38 in the left. I would practice every chance I had on set. I never really spent time practicing with the cup. When the time came for the scene, Michael nailed it like the pro he is, then I did it with the cup and did as well. One take if I recall correctly, months of practice paid off.
