I can give you a 10th one, as this hasn't been identified on the wiki for over 2 years now...

Splash 299, "I see your vocabulary has improved!" is not a reference to the translations, but a reference to "Lands of Lore 2", a game by Westwood Studios in 1997.

I don't remember the details exactly, but during the game you encounter the same boss several times (called Belial), and every time it has become bigger, stronger, and smarter. At the third encounter or so, Belial says "Come... closer... I am your friend" (if I remember correctly), to which the player character Luthor responds "Congratulations, Belial! I see your vocabulary has improved!". The then teenager me found this hilarious.

On “Different kind of CB (yes, I answered the questions, it was mandatory after all! ;) )”

Oof, this brings back memories of writing cringy emails to game companies with ideas I had for games. Never got replies sadly

I did this too. Sent an email to id Software complaining about Quake 3 and got a response in the lines of "Those are some interesting ideas." They were obviously not impressed ;)

Some more info:

I liked Shale / Seashale, but this isn't shale and maybe we want to add actual shale in the future.

I liked Neptone / Nepton, but I want to avoid referencing Roman mythology (Neptune) if possible. Same with names playing on Atlantis ("Atlantite") and Poseidon.

I picked Prismarine because 1) it sounds good, 2) it references water with "marine", 3) it references its "shimmering effect" I hinted at with "prism", and 4) it doesn't really mean anything in the real world.

Thanks again for all the suggestions, it was super helpful!

Why on earth would they have chosen 1,2,3,4 as the delay options? 1,2,4,8 would have been more sensible and allowed longer delays with far fewer blocks.

Yeah there was some discussion about this in the previous reddit post. I had originally used 1,2,5,7 to decrease the number of blocks required to make values 1 through 10. A fellow redditor suggested I should use 1,3,5,6 instead because it gives the values 1 through 12. And 1,2,4,8 would make sense to a programmer.

Although these settings are clever, in the end I changed it to 1, 2, 3 and 4 because that is what the block visually displays.
