I'm proud to share that Cognition is officially joining the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission to use AI to double the productivity of American science. At the kickoff today I got to meet incredible representatives from all 17 national labs, the world's most powerful supercomputers, the largest collection of federal scientific data. So much of this mission is software: decades of Fortran and C++ written by researchers now retiring, pipelines held together by heroics. That's where Devin comes in; fixing vulnerabilities in aging codebases, modernizing legacy code before the knowledge walks out the door, and giving scientists their time back to do actual science.
