Hippo is rolling out Devin across their engineering team! A huge amount of the engineering work in insurance is domain-specific, detail-heavy, high-stakes, and repetitive in structure. It's exactly the environment where moving fast and being precise usually pull against each other. The advantage Devin gives a team here is that it breaks that tradeoff. It can take on the multi-step work—planning, writing, and testing across the codebase—handling the edge cases and unlocking the ability for teams to understand complex systems faster with tools like DeepWiki.
