We raised $2B at a $48B valuation, led by a16z, Accel, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, and Avenir. Pretty cool to see Marc Andreessen revisit "software is eating the world" 15 years later, and update the thesis in his post on why a16z backed Cognition: software has been eating the world at the speed of human hands. With Devin, it's about to eat it at the speed of compute. https://lnkd.in/ecfhugwU One thing that's top of mind for almost every company I talk to: how do we scale our engineering ambition without burning tokens? That's what we've been shipping against: - SWE-2, the most affordable coding model in the world. Near Fable 5.1 performance at 64% lower cost. https://lnkd.in/eTHB9U2v - Devin Fusion, now in the CLI and Devin Desktop. Up to 39% more efficient than running GPT-6 Astra or Claude Fable 5.1 alone. https://lnkd.in/en4NpWxA Speed of compute only matters if teams can actually afford to run at it. That's the problem we're here to solve.

Ambition is in our DNA, and it's been an absolute blast helping our customers drive real outcomes with Devin: shipping faster, clearing backlogs, and taking on projects they'd been putting off for years. It's time to be ambitious. Do it all with Devin.
- Promotes the Devin productivity guarantee in his selling: "if Devin delivers less engineering value than you're paying for, we will fund your usage until it does".Jun 4, 2026Measuring value from AI is genuinely hard. We built a system to measure how many productive engineering hours every Devin task is worth, validated against a dataset of real engineers’ times estimates. The goal is to answer the fundamental question that companies are grappling with: how much real value are you getting from each of your agent sessions? We at Cognition are so confident in our AI products that we're willing to guarantee that if Devin delivers less engineering value than you're paying for, we will fund your usage until it does(https://devin.ai/guarantee) The whole industry needs to move from measuring activity to measuring output. We hope to see more AI companies taking this approach.

- Announced the Windsurf move on 2025-04-09, in his own words: "I'm excited to share that I'll be joining Windsurf (fka Codeium) as a Strategic Account Executive! The team is laser-focused on building the future of software development..."Apr 9, 2025
- Everlaw, 2016-2023: joined as Founding AE and 30th employee at a Series A startup. He helped build the sales process, playbook and culture as Everlaw scaled to 500+ employees and a $2B valuation, and was Executive Sponsor of the AAPI Employee Resource Group.Oct 2016

- Pitches Devin for Security: "Old world: find issues, file tickets / Better world: show up with a PR". He notes "Nothing merges without a human."May 5, 2026Feels like every week there’s another security incident. When I talk to teams, the issue isn’t finding problems - it’s fixing them. There’s no shortage of scanners, alerts, or dashboards. There is a shortage of time and engineering capacity. That’s the gap we’re trying to close with Devin for Security: https://devin.ai/security Instead of just flagging issues, Devin can take a finding, dig into the code, implement a fix, run tests, and open a PR. Devin Review then helps engineers evaluate it with full context. All the usual controls still apply. Nothing merges without a human. Excited to share that Cognition has raised over $1B at a $26B valuation. This milestone wouldn't be possible without our customers and partners who have trusted us, pushed us, and built alongside us. And it feels like we're just getting started. We're doubling down on the product experience - helping companies harness the full power of local and cloud-based agents working together to deliver real engineering outcomes. If you're excited about the future of software engineering, we're hiring. And if you haven't tried Devin yet, now's a great time! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gimZNt7c

Introducing FrontierCode: a new coding eval by Cognition that raises the bar for difficulty and quality. Most coding benchmarks ask: does the code pass unit tests? FrontierCode asks a harder question: would you actually merge it? Models can increasingly write code that works, but is sloppy, brittle, or hard to maintain. FrontierCode is designed to measure whether AI-generated code meets the standards of real-world software engineering. Read the full model results and technical implementation details: https://lnkd.in/eTQufgGi
Excited to see Cognition named to the Forbes AI 50! Proud to be part of the team building the future of software engineering. We are hiring across all roles, DM if you are interested in joining the team! https://lnkd.in/gXHcgenF
